USAToday presents its list of upcoming Christmas specials. By the way, am I wrong, or is this the first time in a LONG time that “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” has aired on network prime-time? It always used to be one of my favorites, along with that one about mice and clocks and George [...]
Where did the weekend go?
Entering into the weekend, there’s one way I can guarantee you I did not intend to spend the entire Sunday, and that’s playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, which came free in a box of cereal. But, you know what they say, the road to hell, yada yada yada.
Remembering “Arnold”
Mark Evanier has told this story elsewhere on his site. But the first time he told it, he left certain blanks in it where names like “Welcome Back Kotter”, “Mr. T and Tina”, and Pat Morita would have gone. The story is now told in full, and I never woulda guessed.
Rest in peace, Arnold.
Thumbs up
Would highly recommend Just Friends, the Ryan Reynolds flick that opens tomorrow, and not just because that’s Regina standing in for New Jersey. (Actually, not sure how I feel about some producer thinking the Queen City is a good substitute for America’s doormat.) Attended the Regina premiere, and interviewed one of the stars.
Sunday Night Review
The Simpsons worked, but not as well as last week. Family Guy was over the top hilarious, and I didn’t finish American Dad.

A rough day today, but it ended with my favorite episode of Futurama: the Fountain of Youth episode (actually, from last [...]
Back soon
Have a couple of things to post as soon as this cloud of migraine lifts from above me.
Not Necessarily the News
This article is a must read about what’s happening in American broadcasting today. I used to live in Saskatoon, where the cable company carries one of Sinclair’s stations, WUHF Rochester. And my experience with that station corroborates much of this.
(EDIT: Fixed link.)
What’s the frequency, Kenneth?
If you’re any kind of broadcast geek, this is kind of neat: Search for a radio station, and it uses Google Maps to show you the transmitter site. Only beef: it’s somewhat outdated.
Belated Sunday reviews
Sunday’s Simpsons, in which Bart becomes a momma’s boy, was comic gold. Certainly approached the days of old, and the Homer armwrestling subpot was good as well. Best line: “Uhh… she died.”
Family Guy, with the A-Team plot, worked too. Laughed out loud several times. Thought the Facts of Life bit went a little too far.
